In the 22nd century, the first public chain of the human community was officially launched, and the world's residents began to migrate to the virtual world. With the infrastructure of the "dimensional universe" yet to be built, people in the virtual world are forced to use the social media and web tools of the past generation to live their lives. Human's plunder of the earth's resources has turned into a struggle for characters, and the deterioration of the living environment and the separation from real life have caused another havoc, manifested in the large-scale infection of mental illness. Yuting Wu, who had migrated to the world of the common chain, accidentally discovered a link bifurcation into the past and with Imryll's assistance, they were able to send an audio signal named Modern Melancholia into the past.

公元 22 世纪，人类共同体第一大公链正式上线，世界居民开始了向虚拟世界的迁徙。由于 “次元宇宙” 基础设施尚未建设完成，虚拟世界的人们被迫使用上个世代的社交媒体和网络工具进行生活。人类对地球资源的掠夺转为了对字符的争夺，生活环境的恶化以及与现实生活的割裂造成了又一次浩劫，其表现为精神疾病的大规模感染。已迁徙公链世界的 Yuting Wu 在机缘巧合下发现了一条通往过去的链路分岔，在 lmryll 的协助下，他们像过去发送一段音频信号，命名为 Modern Melancholia。
